Having problems with home windows opening and closing?

Question

Windows have a square bracket on each side that I believe are spring loaded. Some of the brackets have come loose and make window uneven when trying to open or close. Sometimes when I lift window the bracket drops out of the side of window?

You have to use ALLAN keys, To tighten them up . funny this Q came up today I just finished doing this to 2 of my windows
