Jeez we used to do that as kids to see if it were true, gross or what, full of bacteria but as it was a word we knew nothing about it didn't matter, still tasted great to us.

it depends on the flavor of the gum too. if its something like tident then no, it just gets really hard but soft after you start chewing it. if you have a piece that is very thin then it will and get hard.

Um...i don't really know because i don't personally do that, but i am a big gum chewer. My gum normally loses it's taste after about an hour. I would think it would lose it's flavor.

I don't do that anymore. Mind you gum, always, loses the flavour, very quickly. Have you noticed that.
