"ALL IS FAIR IN LOVE AND WAR." "LIFE IS NOT FAIR." Which do you believe? I personally believe life is not fair and all things in love and war cannot be fair either. I mean someone came and cheated on you... you are supppose to say all is fair in love and war. No because if that happened to me I would say its unfair just like life. What do you guys think?

I agree. Life isn't fair and that includes love and war.

In the first quote -- "All's fair in love and war" -- the word fair here does NOT mean equitable. This quote actually means anything goes as far as love or war are concerned; do whatever you have to/need to to achieve your goal.
As for the second, as far as I'm concerned life simply "is". All the adjectives we humans attach to it are so subjective ("Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"...."One man's meat is another man's poison"....).

"All is fair in love and war" does not mean that "fair" things happen. This means there are no restraints.

You cannot expect people to act a certain way (as they do with normal societal activities) in love or war.

I agree. Life is not fair.

I think the meaning of "all is fair in love" is more that all is fair to GET love. So if you present yourself falsely, lie to a rival, etc.. to get love, then it is OK.

Imagine another person pursuing the one you are pursuing, anything you do to stop them is "fair". Now does that ring true?

I think life and love are not fair. Because it can be easy come easy go.
