And cheap is 'relative' = You should pick up an 'out of spec' laptop for less than £150, or a brand new one for less than £500.

Check the weekly ads for Best Buy. Not only can you find a cheap and decent laptop, they will check out you new laptop, at no additional cost to you, so that you don't get all the way home and realize that it doesn't work.

Decent and cheap are words that do not go together easily when it comes to laptops. I would look out for a secondhand bargain from Dell Outlet

just got a deal at best buy new toshiba satellite 105 just because it has xp vs vista saved 1/2 with vista there $1400 with xp gave $699 good deal

I don't think you can get one that's cheap AND decent, unless you're intending to use it for Office apps and internet. Either way, http://dell.com
