Determine how many hours you will be working in a month. Then divide 2900 by that number.
Don't assume you'll be working only 40 hour per week. This is probably a salaried position, so you should expect to work at LEAST 45 hours per week, and 50 or more would not be unusual. (Salaried employees do not get overtime pay, except in rare cases.)
So, suppose you work 45 hours per week. That's 2340 hours per year, or 195 hours per month. Thus, $2900 / 195 = $14.87 per hour.
If you work 40 hours: $16.73 per hour
If you work 50 hours: $13.38 per hour

Everyone so far has given you a BAD formula.
There are not 4 40 hour weeks in a month. Just look at a calendar. This month has 4 40 hour weeks plus 2 more 8 hour days.
You have to take the monthly income, multiply that by 12 to get your annual, and then divide by 52 to get your weekly and 40 to get your hourly.
2900/month = 34,800 annual pay, $16.73 an hour. NOT the $18+ range everyone else gave you.
2900*12 / 52 / 40 = $16.73.
Think about it-- most months have 30-31 days, not 28.

It's 16.73 an hour. If your paid monthly, multiply 2900 X 12 (because there are twelve months in a year). That comes to an annual salary of 34800. Then you divide 34800 by 52 (because there's 52 weeks in a year). That comes to 669.23 a week. Then you divid that number by 40 (because you probably work 40 hours a week) and you get the answer 16.73. All but about 3 of these answers on this page are wrong. I think my explanation is the easiest to understand.

nicely there are numerous aspects interior the situation. Take whether many hours you artwork in step with month and then divide it by skill of the 2900.00. So if artwork a hundred and sixty hours then the maths will seem something like this 2900 / a hundred and sixty= 18.13 in step with hour. yet undergo in concepts that taxes have not been taken out. So the question is are you grossing 2900.00 a month or bringing residing house 2900.00 a month.

Annual Salary = $2,900 X 12 = $34,800
Weekly Salary = $34,800 / 52 = $669.23
At typically a 40 hour week,
Hourly = $669.23 / 40 = $16.73
However if they're paying you by the month you may be expected to work more (or less) than 40 hours per week.

The hourly rate you would be making @ 2900.00 per month is $16.73 based on a 40 hour workweek. Annual salary (52 weeks) = $34,800.00. Weekly pay would be $669.23 before taxes.
To figure this out you multiply $2900.00 (per month) X 12 (# of months in a year) divide by 52 weeks (# of weeks in a year) = your weekly pay of $669.23 and divide that figure by 40 (# of hours in a week).

Well, the average full-time work week is based on 40 hours. If there are 4 weeks in the month divide 2900 by 4, and then divide that answer by 40. Your answer is $18.12 per hour.

Multiply 2900 X 12 Weeks = 34,800
Now divide by 52 weeks = 669.23
Now divide by 40 hours - 16.73 per hour
For nearly 35,000 per year one would think you could do that.

About $16.75 per hour. $2,900 per month x 12 months= $34,800 per year. Divide that by 52 weeks for a weekly rate of $670. Divide that by a 40 hour work week and you get $16.75 per hour. There are more than 4 weeks per month which is why you won't be getting $18.00 per hour as some people suggest.

2900 X 12 months = $34,800
34,800 / 52 weeks = $669.23
669.23 / 40 hrs = $16.73
You could go 2900 / 4 weeks then that answer / 40 hrs
but my way is more accurate and is how loan companies and such figure your monthly pay.
