I love Rear Window especially the way it was filmed and all the different people James Stewart was watching. I think I spotted Hitchcock listening to the piano player in one scene - I spend most of my time when watching Hitchcock trying to find the scene he's in. It 's like playing a film version of Where's Wally.

I had to do a project on Hitchcock for my film studies course so we watched a load of his films, and the one I prefered was Vertigo - it's got a fantastic plot and I like the way it's been filmed! Psycho's a great film as well, it's just the storyline for Vertigo was majorly impressive to me.

My favorite of Hitch's movies is "Shadow of a Doubt", which was filmed partly on location in Santa Rosa, California in 1943. It's the story of an idyllic small-town family welcoming a relative, the wonderful Uncle Charlie (played by Joseph Cotton), for a visit--what they don't know, and what the oldest girl of the family, also named Charlie, discovers, is that Uncle Charlie has some very dark secrets---. Finely-tuned, taut suspense, set against a normal, sunny family life--great performances, great script, real emotional content (very mature for its time) make this one tops.
Hitchcock used to say that this fim brought murder "back in the home..where it belongs."

Strangers on a Train - great story and twist, you could almost see it happening in real life, The birds - because it still scares the living s*** out of me, over all though probably North By Northwest - just an all round good flick.
