Regarding your original question.
I think we need more info. What do you eat before you go to bed (late night snack). Do you brush your teeth before retiring?
Bad breath or a bad taste in your mouth is caused by bacteria. There are lots of different varieties (the source says as many as 600) in you mouth all the time. And they WILL feed on whatever is in your mouth during the night. Different bacteria will leave you with a different taste in the morning based on the acidity, sugar, etc in your mouth.

Not that I personally give a monkeys, your question I believe is along the lines that if you dip your own wick, you acquire a taste in your mouth. You have to consider that kids are allowed onto yahoo answers (though some sections should be shut off from them - up to the parents - and yahoo to provide) and questions along that line are inappropriate for them to see. If I was a parent, and my kid asked me the same question you tried to ask, I'd be none too happy, and complain. Hence the removal.
