A car is about 7' wide X 20' long. You need room to open the doors. The smallest are 18' X 23'. That is what the cheapp developers will try to sell you. A real one would have room for some tools possibly 24' X 30' to be comfortable.

That depends upon what year the garage was built! My parents' house was built in the 1930's or so and their 2-car garage is a little small for today's cars. I would ask a contractor or someone.

A two car garage is usually approximately 24' x 24', slightly larger if you'd like to have a bench and work area in one end.

24' in width x 20 to 24' in depth is the standard. The 24' in width allows for 2' on each end (corner) which is needed for shear strength and 2' center filled in which leaves you with two 9' doors
This is standard size.

The length doesn't matter.

Large enough to hold 2 standard-sized vehicles, either side by side, or front to back.

Oversized vehicles, like a dually won't usually fit.
