Depends on how good a table you're thinking about. If it's a real good quality table with a slate top, then not only is it difficult and precise, it's also extremely heavy. The slate is usually in two pieces approx. 4x4x3/4" - 1" thick. If you drop it it's broken. Better to let professionals install it and pay their price. It will be level and true and the balls won't trail off in one direction or another when traveling slowly down the table.
