when you squeeze the empty beer bottle(or any glass bottle) the quarter will jump. Why?

If you squeeze the bottle, the quarter will hop a little. I swear this isn't a prank I did it in a lab. Jump may be a stretch but it definitely moves.

IF this were to happen, it could only be because of an increase in the PRESSURE of the air in the bottle.

However, I have to say that I DOUBT your claim. I tried it with a couple of glass winebottles --- NO EFFECT WHATSOEVER. I then tried it with a small plastic bottle, which I could REALLY squeeze substantially. I would not say that the quarter "jumped." At best, it jiggled just a little.

I conclude that you are having us on, pulling our collective legs (or "pulling our noses," as Germans say), just to see how many people you can get to try this exercise in futility!

You should have saved this question up for April 1st. (If you haven't yet done so, you and other readers should Yahoo! the hilarious "Great Spaghetti Harvest Hoax" that the BBC pulled when I was a boy. My British Grammar school's [= U.S. High school's] "Religious Instruction" Master BELIEVED it, which may tell one something.)

Live long and prosper.
