Plan B is two pills with a higher dosage of hormones found in the birth control pill. It's primary method of action is to stop you from ovulating because if you don't ovulate, you can't become pregnant. It's secondary method of action is to thicken the lining of the cervix making it harder for sperm in the vagina to enter the uterus. If you have already ovulated, there's not much else that can be done but hopefully Plan B will prevent you from ovulating or delay your ovulation.

It is now available over the counter. Call the pharmacies in your area and ask if they are carrying it and if they have any in stock. If they do, go pick up a supply from there. Or, Planned Parenthood always stocks and carries it and you can pick it up there without a prescription as well. It will cost you anywhere from $30 - 45 depending on your area. It costs me $32 at my Planned Parenthood now.
Best of luck!

You can also have a HOPE visit at Planned Parenthood where you can get a prescription for birth control without having an exam. These visits are cheaper and we can also try to help you get on funding for the birth control (depending on your income and your state). Also, condoms are quite effective if used properly and you can get them in latex or polyurithane if you're alergic to latex.

Best of luck!

To find out where you can get Plan B near you call:
1-800-230-PLAN however I believe in most countries you can get it from a pharmacist without a prescription.

However Plan B is only 75-85% effective, having and IUD put in up to 5 days after sex is 99% effective and can either be removed after the next menstruation or left in as birth control.

plan b is an emergency birth control can only take up to 3 days after sex. ONLY over the counter if you are 17 and older. and if younger you have to get a prescription for it from your doctor and i really don't know how much is cost sorry

Plan B is available at any Planned Parenthood office. You can find one near you at www.plannedparenthood.com I'm not sure on the price, but some offices have a sliding fee, where you can get an exam and perscriptions for a small donation.

instead of relying on "pulling out" use condoms or get on a birth control. pulling out is not effective and this is one of the reasons.

p.s. he is obviously not the only "idiot" in this equation... not trying to offend... but think before you do. there are consequences to every action. hopefully this situation turns out alright and is an eye-opener for you. (which i hope will cause you to demand a condom or go to the doc and get bc.)

Hmmm...you had unprotected sex and yet you are calling your partner an idiot? Pot...meet kettle!

Call Planned Parenthood for RU486.
