How would you catagorise this. Would you call yelling, screaming, is told to leave the home, having a tantrum without being phisically abused, ABUSE? This is something one of my friends are faced with on a daily basis. Now in a case like this what advise would you give someone?

This would be called verbal abuse (obviously not physical abuse), but abuse nonetheless. Sometimes it is easier to treat verbal abuse than physical abusers. Talk to your friend. Suggest that marriage counseling or therapy (even if only she goes to start she will learn ways to handle the abuse and decide if she wants to stay or not). A good church pastor can also counsel couples, or contact your health insurance provider for referral to counselors or therapists. Good luck and God Bless.

This is emotional abuse and she needs to leave. Almost always physical abuse is sure to follow. This will be the hardest and best decision she will ever have to make, but it is worth it. No one deserves to be treated like this, so she needs to remember she is someone that has a lot to offer this world and she is no one's doormat.

Physical abuse always starts off in other ways. What your friend is experiencing is emotional abuse and it will escalate. Tell your friend to get out while she has the chance. It will not always be just emotional.

If this is truly a daily occurance then maybe this person should indeed try and find somewhere else to go if at all possible.Could you possibly be in a position to help this person out.Look into some shelter's for this person if you cannot help yourself. This is not a good situation.
