I'm sure they can, but upon the birth, you can expect to hear and read all sorts of media controversy.
Oddly enough, I have been seeing these questions pop up quite a bit in the pet/animal yahoo answers site. Some of the things I have seen are totally unbelievable that people do.

Lay off the crack pipe and stop reading f*ing tabloids.
Horses and humans don't share enough of the genome to be compatible. Hell. humans and chimps, which share 99.9% of the genome, aren't compatible enough to breed.

no impossible, you hear of sick stories of people having sex with animals all the time but men never enpregnate dogs, and women never get enpregnated by dogs, our DNA and semen and reproductive orgasn are make different from other mamals!
