What are some good places to ride your motorcycle to with a beginning point in San Antonio, TX? Short and long rides considered. I'm just open for suggestions. Thanks!

One of my favorites is the ride from San Antonio (Helotes) to Bandera - nice surface, wide lanes (four lanes part of the way) curves and hills. Other destinations - Fredericksburg, Comfort, Kerrville, Canyon Lake and many more. River Road from Gruene to Canyon Dam is another great route.

From Fredericksburg you can take Ranch Road 965 north for a great ride to Enchanted Rock. Hwy 16 from Fredericksburg to Kerrville is very scenic and then 173 from Kerrville to Bandera is also good.

I like the ride from San Antonio to Kerrville or Fredericksburg. The Hill country is really pretty with a lot of water, hills and trees (Something we dont see a lot of in this part of Texas)

Go to your local Harley Dealership they have a "Ride Texas" book that has some pretty killer routes for rides..especially throughout the Hill Country.

I made this drive in the other direction, driving here from Sacramento. The fastest and safest route would be to take I-10 west all the way to california, then get on I-5 north from L.A., and that will take you all the way to S.F. It take about three 8-hour days of driving to make it the whole way, or about 24 hours if you are crazy enough to try driving straight through.
