what is a zyst or cyst however you spell it? in the ovaries? girls help me?

i started dating this girl and just getting to know, but she told me she has a zyst or cyst however you spell it in the ovaries. And I dont know anything about that. what is it? what causes that? she told me it was caused by her birth control pills. Is this true? im having second thoughts about this girl, to be with her or even having intercourse with her. is this risky to my health. she says she will get surgery but she cant have sex for about 2 months anyone know info on this ?? please help me.

it's ovarian cyst. a woman produces a cyst every month when she ovulates. this part is a normal monthly process. some women produce extra cysts, this is called polycystic ovarian disease. problem is if you take birth control pills, it suppresses your ovulation and thus surpresses cysts, the pill actually helps with this problem not causes it. the surgery is to either remove a problem cyst or look with a scope to see what the problem is.

Any ovarian follicle that is larger than about two centimeters is termed an ovarian cyst. ovarian cysts aren't all that uncommon, some women are prone to them. As far as I know they're usually harmless, but can be painful...
