Well, lets see. We don't chose to be born and we are equipped with a survival instinct that sort of traps us into life, if you want to look at it that way. In most cases, our very conception is an accident made by our parents, who then raise us largely based on uneducated traditions and guesswork. I think the first two noble truths of Buddha are that existence is suffering and that the source of suffering is desire. Every day, we are ruled by our desires, to eat, to have sex, to make money so we can have shelter and nice things. We all die eventually, and death is both unpleasant and often feared because we don't know what comes after. And some people are even born with genetic predispositions to depression and are essentially doomed to go through their lives with adequate feels of joy.

When looking for reasons why life may suck, you will never come up short. But I don't think its a very fruitful or enjoyable search.

Sure does. Isn't it ironic that life sucks the life out of you?

Nah, moments of life suck. Overall life is pretty cool. You meet interesting people, there are incredible places to visit and you have freedom of choice. All in all I'd say life is cool.

It depends on your consciousness level? Raise it high enough through traditional means, meditation, "energy work", etc. and life is actually close to bearable. Even higher and it 's a pleasure. :))

Well it's like Abe Lincoln said - "Most people are about as happy as they make up their mind to be." Sounds like yours is made up.
