They're either cool, or not cool. There is no middle ground here.

I usually love the happy to be alive ones with a good sense of humor (I work at a pizza joint and one asked with a straight face if he could pay with a walmart gas card, Gets me every time.)
And then there's the mean ones that had to get up on the wrong side of the craft-matic adjustable bed EVERY FREAKING DAY SINCE THEY WERE 40 and they are just perpetual crabasses. Not friendly and usually cheap(when I was here last the buffet was only 10 cents when did it go up to $5.99 That's it I'm never eating here again) My favorite ones though are the ones that walk into my pizza joint thinking it's McDonald's b/c there's one next door and they look around and asked if we've changed overnight and when did we start sellin pizza? Where's the coffe and filet of fish? Then I get to tell them where they're at and they make me promise not to tell anyone. oops

Fortunately old people (all people) are individuals.
Some are cool, while some are not.
You can't group them all together and say they are all the same one way or the other. Even ones who might seem cool might not actually be, or they might only be cool to people who are cool to them.
Live and learn.

I'm a nurse and mostly take care of the elderly for a living, but even if I didn't get paid I would still want to sit there and listen to their advice and the awsome stories. you can learn alot from older people.

im not sure how old you mean but there are cool people at all ages.......and there are also jerks.
