I'm looking to make a few extra bucks consistently and don't wanna get a PT retail job. I'm a skilled person ie. computer literate, good with my hands. I can see doing home repairs,or working in the evenings on the PC. Can anyone give me suggestions other than linking me to "the best website" they know?

Last year, I earned $16,000 on the side as a mobile notary public. People borrow money from places other than their local banks these days and the out of town lender needs YOU to take the documents to the clients home, have them signed and notarized, and returned.

Couldn't be easier.

What do you need to do?

Become a notary. Simple as can be. Check with your states' notary association by going to yahoo or google.

Once a notary, you can sign up to be a mobile notary at the National Notary Association website. www.nationalnotary.org

YOU WILL TURN DOWN MORE JOBS THAN YOU WILL ACCEPT!!!! Out of town lenders NEED you to get documents signed and they will call you just about everyday.

I have nothing to sell you.

It works, because you are providing a real service. Is $16,000 a lot of money? Not necessarily... but as a side job, it's unbeatable.

Good luck to you!

At least where I live, there is a desperate need for handymen who will actually show up when they say they will, fix the problem, and leave. I look in the local pennysaver paper for listings when I need help. If you can't do every kind of project, but just certain kinds, then advertise to your neighbors with flyers.

I also would eagerly hire someone to clean up after our dogs (the yard) and walk them and play with them. I would definitely pay $25 a week for such a service, if it existed.) (expecting you to clean the yard and play with or walk the dog for 1/2 hour 5 days a week) -- you'd make $5 per 1/2 hour visit (totalling $100 per mo) If you made this deal with two neighbors, that would be $200/mo right there for an hour of work each day plus time walking to/from the other houses.

We pay a gardner $100/mo to come by once a week and "mow and blow" and do a little extra hedge trimming each time. That's another option. If you see other things your neighbors could use help with, go for it.

I also pay people with computer skills to do word processing and proofreading for me -- you can easily make $10 to $25 an hour if you have secretarial type skills and make yourself available for temporary and part time work -- I have a "virtual assistant" who does just that. You can also sign up with any of the temp agencies and they'll send you out on assignments -- even if it's just stuffing envelopes (if you take this route, sign up with at least 3 agencies to minimize the wait between assignments -- the hardest part is getting the first assignment).

The strategy is to figure out what you're good at, advertise inexpensively or better yet for free (flyers or whatever works), then get your first few assignments.l

If you're looking for quick money the only real honest bet is to get a second part time job. Unless you have enough extra cash to invest in the market - but even that isn't a guarentee. Do you have a full daytime job? What kind of hours do you have free? Can you work extra hours at your main job? First off, working from home on a PC part time following one of those ads never works - they are always a scam. You could look into a local warehouse or as a delivery person if you don't want retail. Or be a waiter or bar tender (if you're old enough) for big tips! I currently work from home part time with my own web design business. If you have design or programming skills, you can start that way too.

Well we were in the same boat a year ago, we have tried this and that on the net.
Some things we done:
We opened an eBay store...that went so so but it was not what we wanted:
We then opened http://www.stockmysite.com and i must say, WOW now this is what we wanted, with some effort, we have done all kinds of free stuff to promote the website, which can be done at any hour.

We have never really seen any luck from reading emails, viewing ads for cash....it just doesn't happen like everyone says in the ads.
We would like to extend an invitation to visit the following site to you and anyone reading...it really has worked for us:
http://www.stockmysite.com/Turnkey_Enterprise_Business/shop.htm

Feel free to contact me with any questions. I hope this is not too far off what you were asking.Good Luck!!!

You could also deliver newspapers if you don't mind getting up early. Otherwise, talk to a temp agency about a part-time position or check your local craigslist. If all else fails, donate plasma. Some plasma banks pay $40-70 a week.

Advertise in the local newspaper, list all sorts of tasks you'd like to do, and have people call you and line up appointments. For example you could do computer repair, painting, small home repairs, dog walking, etc.

Put up fliers in the ad areas in the front vestibule of grocery stores offering up your talents. There are tons of people that would rather pay a reduced rate for someone to teach them how to use thier PC. Also a list of references would be appropriate.

Join 'The Geek Squad' or something equivalent. My guess is they always need folks who are willing to work odd hours. They are in the US, Canada, and the UK. Yes, they have an official website and a way to contact them.

Donate plasma. It sucks but it pays a few hundred a month.
