Michael Schumacher won 5 championships with Ferrari. I don't think you can expect anyone to be as successful. Raikkonen was the best choice.

If you look back one year, there were three top drivers in F1: Michael Schumacher, Fernando Alonso, and Kimi Raikkonen. Understanding the need to have a top driver in order to be competitive as a team, Ferrari went after the one they thought to be the best option to either team with a soon to retire MS, or to come in after him.

Kimi is an amzing driver, and I expect he will do well at Ferrari. Massa seems to have settled in and made great strides in the last year, but day by day, Kimi will become more settled with the team and the car, and his race pace should show this. The problem with Kimi has never been his pace, it's always been the smaller things - working with the engineers to get the car just right, and maybe even coaxing the car along and preserving it when need be (I am not sure, but you have to wonder if he might of been able to coax one finish out of all of those failures... time will tell on that one).

Michael excelled in those areas, as well as driving. Ferrari is a well run team at the moment, and they should be able to provide Kimi a reliable and competitive car. He will do well. But I cannot imagine that he'll go on to produce five championships!
