Check your virus scan/firewall program. You may have blocked access for these programs.

if you have firewall installed then turn it off and see if you can connect then. Also check in your tools, internet options, connections tab, that you dont have a default dial up trying to connect to the internet first. You want to connect LAN settings.Try and setup the internet connection with the button at the top in the connections using the wizard and the options "connect to the internet" then "setup my connection manually" then "connect through a broadband connection that is always on" then hit finish. If yahoo can access then there is nothing wrong with your actual connection.

Need more information. Did it just start doing this? Is it a new computer? You on wireless. Try a system restore. Go to start > all programs> accessories > system tools > system restore.
