I thought it was the skin. Maybe the outer layer is the Dermis and lower layers are the Epidermis.

The epidermis is the outer layer of skin. It is composed of squamous epithelial cells. It continuously is sloughed your body and is the main component that "soils" your linen. The dermis is the layer under the epidermis.
