Because Cap had a secret idenity and he was shot only after his this was made public. Also Cap wore a chain mail outfit from head to toe and caried an unbrakable shield.

This is a great big piece of BS! I really hate what Marvel has done to Captain America. They will probably bring him back as Captain Iraqi, stupid.

I haven't read the comic but I would imagine because he is so wrapped up in his own guilt over all the people who died because of him (heroes and civillians) and his rebellion against the united states government that he just wasn't "on".

his chain-mail top,
the super solider formula makes him extra tough.
his is comic book superhero!
If u think about it it doesn't make sense that any superhero who isn't bulletproof would make it a day w/o getting his head blown off but I still love to read comics.

does it really matter. Capt. America is a second rate hero anyways. I think the writers finally realized this and dealt with the issue.

because then marvel wouldnt make millions off of that character if he was dead no movies cartoons comics toys video games none of it would be there
