Get some reverend horton heat - great rock/punkabilly. Especially the songs 'galaxy 500' 'bales of cocaine' and 'I can't surf'

Then grab some NOFX like 'Bottles to the Ground', 'Linoleum', 'Ska Sucks', 'Lori Meyers', 'Jeff Wears Birkenstocks', etc.

Then maybe get some good old school punk like the Misfits 'Bullet', 'Hatebreeders', 'Skulls'

One of my personal favorites is 'The Pixies' who do a great mix of surf and punk with a lot of other stuff thrown in for good measure. 'Head on' (which is actually a jesus and mary chain song), 'Velouria', 'Monkey Gone to Heaven' (the one song most people have actually heard by them), 'Debaser', 'U-Mass', etc. etc.

Fugazi is another great band (hardcore punk, from Washington DC) - but they are the only one I won't actually download. They started their own label 'Dischord Records' and do their own distribution and everything. You can find their albums in most record stores, but they usually only charge 8-10 bucks for them, and on the album is a sticker that has an address to write to report anyone charging more, and to order the albums for the low price. They only ever charge a few bucks to get into their shows, but they are always packed out the door. I had someone make me late to one of their shows in Asheville NC, and we ended up standing outside - the guy who I rode with bought a scalped ticket, and then right as we were about to give up hope, a roadie walks up to me and hands me two tickets. I stood there staring at him and could only manage to say 'wow - what do I owe you??' and he just said 'nothing - have a good time!'

We walked past about 100 other people standing outside - and a few minutes later the fire marshall shut it down at 2000 people inside. IT was packed - and it ROCKED!!!

Go out and find their CD's - especially 'Repeater' and '13 songs'
