They only blame Bush out of hate, not out of reason. Yes everyone should bear some of the responsibility. The main thing now is to do something about the problems not only at Walter Reed but at many other VA hospitals where they don't have adequate care. Walter Reed's problem has been there longer than Bush's time in office and so have the other problems he wants investigated now.

The problems at Walter Reed have been publicized at least TWO YEARS before the latest expose in the Washington Post came out. I totally and completely blame the Commander-in-Chief and the Republican congress who dropped the ball on this one. SHAME!
The major problems are that the Administration, although having plenty of time to plan the invasion of Iraq, just didn't plan on "Mission Accomplished." There was no reason to plan for thousands of horribly wounded soldiers needing longterm care. It costs money that wouldn't otherwise go to Halliburton and the other defense contractors. Can't have that. Aren't good soldiers supposed to shut up and not complain anyway?
"Support the Troops!" I guess all that is is an ugly sticker I have to look at on the car in front of me when I'm stuck in traffic.

In the Military Bush is Commander and Chief. He is responsible for Everything If not directly then managerially. It is his job to install inspector Generals that report back to him.
The problem at Walter Reed is the tip of the iceburg. The system is broken. The farther you get from Washington DC the problems are more atrocious.

Walter Reed is an ARMY hospital and Bush is Commander in Chief of the Army so that makes him ultimately responsible, doesn't it? I mean you cannot be the CinC and "the decider", and then only take the credit when something good happens and not take the blame when something bad happens.

Well, conditions are bad there now, and Bush is all about supporting the troops... except, apparently, when they come hom injured and have to be hospitalized at Walter Reed.
And as the Commander-in-Chief, he's responsible for oversight of all things to do with the military.

Maybe we're just finding out about it since the 110th Congress has been in session for a couple months. The 109th session didn't even do their Constitutional obligation of passing a budget. The 110th has done more in two months than the 109th did in two years. Finally we have a Congress that does something other than rubber stamp failed policies, then hide the failures under the carpet.

Why do you Sec-Pros think Bush is God? You blame him for everything. It's like you think he is Omni-present. Honestly lets take a trip down Reality lane for a second. i know you sec-pros don't much like reality but bare with me. Ok you are the President of McDonald's. Johnny is in charge of cooking burgers in one of your stores in Ohio. Johnny under cooks a burger and a customer complains. Who's fault is it? Johnny's or yours? At Walter Reed, Johnny and his manager were fired, and You are aimed at fixing the problem and making sure it does not happen again. that's what Bush is doing as well.

Bush's budgets have been cutting the funding to the VA. Anybody with half a brain would know that with all the war wounded that being produced in Iraq would call call increasing the VA budget.
The bottom line is that the republicans don't support the troops, they only support the troops dying.

Because he's the leader. Leaders are usually held accountable for the actions of those in the chain of command. He's the top of the chain. He says "fix hospital" and it becomes fixed, as if by magic. He visitted in December of last year... says he toured the hospital and talked to many of the staff. I hope this clears it up for you.

Anything to make Bush look bad is all it takes.
Btw: For all those in favor of nation health care here is a good example of what you are going to get if the government controls health care.
