Ireland has the same current as Great Britain. However, most of the hotels provide dryers, so you don't have to buy one.

None the less, you can bring an adaptor (available at places like Target, K-Mart, any travel store), so you can plug in your other devices.

You can buy a transformer and the plugs - I have never had any luck with the transformers working- best bet is to hit Walmart and buy a travel hairdryer with dual voltage - then all you have to do is buy the adapters - usually find that in the luggage section of the store . Many of the kits do come with a transformer - but like I said - they have never worked for me overseas

conair also has a good selection of curling irons that automatically adjust to the voltage - and they work great

You'll need a dual voltage dryer, it will say if it is or not on the plug. From then, get the adapter plug. The transformers are a pain in the butt.

You could wait till you get there and buy one locally.

You have to buy a current converter (reduces their current) plus, your dryer end will never plug into theirs, anyways. They do sell them (electronics/ hardware store maybe, look online). Your best to ask your travel agents on where to purchase them or if the place your staying at has them there.

Smartest way to deal with the issue would be to get a new haircut. One that does not need a hairdryer!

If you you are going to get one, get a small "traveller" collapsible one. These are usually designed with travelling in mind and thus have multiple voltages / inbuilt converters.
