it has nothing to do with me personally....its just that some people that ive met in america assume that since my friends and i are caribbean...they we're freaks. maybe its from television....or something.....one person pointed out BET's College Hill to me. just looking for your opinion

Most of the times people react to certain situations negatively just because they are ignorants. It is unfortunate to say that people usually tend to react to the things unknown just by generalizing some sort of idea seen somewhere instead of by accepting their ignorance and learn the truth from a reliable source.
My suggestion to you is to show yourself as an example of the people of your country, which I have seen and is beautiful by the way, and be an example in everything you do so that their new parameter is set higher. Hence, from now on, everything related to Trini would be related to you.

I would not think someone is a freak because they are from Trinidad. It may be possible that people are reacting to something that you are doing, rather than who you are. Without much information though, it would be difficult to say. I just know that I could care less where a person is from (or their ethnic background). All I care about is how a person acts.

I have known a lot of "TRINi's.
Be glad you are a "Freak".
They used to be the best people. Warm, friendly, out-going, Intelligent.
Be glad of your difference, they are what make you you.

Let not your heart be troubled, GOD made you who you are! Dont worry so much about what everybody else says or thinks. GOD made you, and loves you the way you are. Concentrate on GOD! The more you worry about what they think, the less happy you will be with yourself! Believe me, I know, it took me a long time to figure this out for myself !
