It just depends. Usually with the first child it tends to be a bit longer and it also depends on if you are induced or not. With my first, I was in hard core labor for 23 hours (no drugs) with my second, maybe 2-3 hours and with my third and fourth child, like maybe an hour. Don't sweat it and don't be worried about it, every woman's body is different and if you focus on only the labor part of it, you are going to stress yourself out! Good luck!

My first pregnancy I went in and I was 8cm dilated,so I will say my active labor was about 3 hours but if I count the time when I started feeling back pains then it was about 13 hours.
My second pregnancy I was in labor for about 5 hours and the last 20 minutes was the absolute worse.

Actually labor is early stage (0-4 cm) Active labor 4-10 cm. The third stage of labor is delivery and afterbirth (placenta). From start to finish i was in labor for 17.5 hours but labor and delivery is different for everyone. It could range from 3 hours to 24 hours or longer.

Depends on your definition of labor. Most drs define active labor as regular frequent contractions and being 4cm dilated.

Going from 1st contraction to birth, it was 23 hours for my 1st and 5 hours for my 2nd. If you look at active labor it was about 12 hours with my 1st and 2 hours with my second.

First baby (7.5 pounds): I realized I was in labor about 15 hours before giving birth. Second baby (9 pounds): about 4 hours.

The first time, I was in labor for 36 hours (two weeks if you count from the time contractions started)

Second time, I was in labor 26 hours (once again nearly 2 weeks if you count from the time contractions started).

I have never been in labor less than 12 hours....My first born was an emergency c-section after 24 hours of labor. My second was born VBAC after 12 hours of labor. My third was another emergency c-section after 13 hours of labor. I'm pg with my fourth and this one will be a scheduled c-section. my shortest labor ever....:)
