I have yet to be "scared" my parents took me to see spokey movies ever since I was born. However, I did get the chills on exorcists and anything with the supernatural like that.

One exorcists movie I saw a new one can't remember the name of it but I had bad luck from that movie for two weeks until I rented the Jesus movie (don't remember the name of it)

For me "Blob", which came out in 1958.
My goodness, I couldn't sleep for days. But at the time when I watched it I was only 10 years old. I have never seen it since, but I think if I would see it again I wouldn't be scared anymore.
It seems like scary movies are getting more and more perverted and sadistic. Who comes up with these ideas?
If people in 1950 would see the movie Saw III, they would have probably pooped in their pants and died of a heart attack. That's how hardened we have become.
But I don't like watching scary movies, it's just a bloodbath these days and there is no point to it.

When I was a little kid Amityville Horror really scared me a lot. To this day windows that look like the ones on that house give me the willy's. I think the scariest movie I've seen in recent years is the remake of the texas chainsaw massacre. I also really enjoyed The OThers but that one was more creepy than scary.

Would you believe Jaws back in the 70's and I haven't been to one since. It also cured me from swimming in the ocean. Love the water but will never go in. i had nightmares for months after that movie and now just the thought of seeing a scary movie makes me feel creepy. I don't care how far fetched the storyline is.
I love mobster movies don't ask me why. They should be the ones to cause nightmares.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre - the original
Nightmare on Elm Street
Poltergeist

All time scariest was a movie I can't remember the name to. It was done in the 60's. A group's car breaks down and they stop at a small town mechanic. He is actually a human size doll maker and guess who he turns into dolls? The scariest part was where he put plaster on the girls face and was talking to her saying, "Y ou feel the plaster burning your skin, now you feel panic....."

The Hills have Eyes is awesome. As is the remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Seeing The Ring for the first time gave me nightmares.

I remember seeing a movie back in the 80's called "I spit on your grave"... a real disturbing movie about a young girl who gets brutally attcked by 4 guys, then how she gets revenge on each one of them.

I didn't sleep for days. But it is now a cult movie that's fairly difficult to get.

This'll make the burliest of dudes want their mommies....
