Heck no! Windows firewall only monitors incoming traffic. So if a virus or spyware happened to get into your machine and try to send out information, windows firewall will not even know it. You need a good bi-directional firewall. I use McAfee. Comodo has a good one for free.

Well if you are 24/7 online than the firewall in Xp in not that good. And there are no 100% good firewalls, zone alarm is good but it takes too much resources and slows your PC.
My advice is that you get a Kaspersky internet security or Mcafee Internet Security. but I don't think people do understand the propose of the firewall, it is made to keep safe your document and some stuff that you don't want others to see, also so hackers will not attack you or get your bank card number and etc. But if you are good guy, if you are not visiting porno sites and sites that you fond that might harm your PC than you don't really need a firewall (if you are a home user).
But again never be sure and get a firewall.

Kaspersky Internet Security or Mcafee Internet Security.
Also try site advisor from Mcafee it is free and get a Opera or Firefox.

The primary purpose of a Firewall is to prevent Malware from getting on your computer. It cannot do it on its own. You must have excellent Antivirus and AntiSpyware programs to assist.

I recommend you read this site. You will come away with a great basic education in protecting your computer.

like others said, it only monitors incoming traffic, you want to look at outgoing as well.
