Congratulations! I recall that giddy feeling when I paid off my first house; I was 26. The feeling of accomplishment was great!
Have a wonderful house party and have a big ceremony with torching your mortgage papers (copies of course); I went so far as to invite the bank president; he actually accepted and had a grand time assisting in the burning-- have it outside and everyone can throw their beer, liquor in the fire pit and keep it going a bit longer.

It's never a good idea to pay for your house in full. Take out an equity loan. You need the interest deduction that a mortgage gives.

Yes, that would be wonderful, but if it is ,maybe you can help build others homes threw a humanity organization.Many have lost their home's threw many different tragedies, so it would be a real blessing to be of assistance to less fortunate.
