I have been listening intently to Pink Floyd's Piper At The Gates Of Dawn and can't help noticing the similarities to The Beatles Revolver album. Amazing time period for music - 1967.

From most articles that I've read on Pink Floyd, Roger Waters thought the Beatles were rubbish. I believe that Pink Floyd influenced themselves, I really dont think they were listening to other peoples records when they were recording music. I have never read any interviews with Syd, but I wouldnt imagine he was influenced by the Beatles.

In the early days they both recorded at the same recording studio. Sometimes at the same time just a few rooms away from each other. So I guess its always possible that they took ideas from each other. I know one song in particular by Pink Floyd that sounds somewhat similar to Come Together by the Beatles. But when I looked at the recording dates Pink Floyd had released that album a year before Come Together came out. So who knows... ? I wish I could remember the name of that PF song!

Revolver came first (1966). So, if anybody really inluenced somebody else, it must have been The Beatles.
