Find a good vocal coach. Seriously. Be picky, but find one.

A good vocal instructor can help you learn to get over your bridges, extend your range in both directions and control pitch.

He or she can also prevent you from injuring your voice. This is no joke, singing incorrectly can screw up your voice permanently.

Sing scales every day stretching little by little to get higher and higher........but be careful not to strain your voice too hard. Just keep practicing and working your voice. Your voice box is a muscle, and the more you work it the more in shape it becomes.

As for a quiet place to practice, you just have to find where you can be alone with no distractions or interruptions. I do a lot of my warm-ups when I'm driving alone in the car.

I've never heard of anyone that can sing, not knowing how to hit high notes. You just do it. Why don't you do it at home when you're home alone. The bathroom is a great place to sing.

i think lime juice works well too. i think it's the citric acid that loosens up your vocal chords. Opera singers take a shot often before they go out on stage. pretty interesting. also, did it ever occur that maybe you can't hit the high notes? some people can't, but can still sing... i forget the terminology something about alto or soprano i think? good luck!

This is no joke, drinking lemon juices loosens up your vocal cords. My mother is a vocal instructor.
