i've only been driving for a few months and yes i am still learning. i have been fortunate to get a nice car under warranty, its my first. one friend tried to convince me to go to one of those little corner spots to get a less expensive car that i didnt have to have a note on. i said no to this. the other friend never has anything nice to say about my accomplishments, she always says "you still cant drive". like she never has anything good to say. well i worked hard at it and i got what i wanted. i may have had someone help me with the car purchase but i never had anything handed to me. it all went so fast, i got my license and the next week i got my car and they were like oh how did you do it and why did you buy a newer car or why did you buy that car? i love my grand am. oh one said you should have gotten a car that i could fit in. your cars too small, blah, blah, blah. oh now one says i think i am all that because i have a car now. is this jealousy or what?

i should clarify, they didnt help me pay for it. i put the money down and i pay the monthly note and the insurance all on my dime. they just helped me get a great deal on the car however it went down. but just know that persons money didnt put the down payment. also my accomplishment of getting a license and learning to drive. i tried years ago and gave up. i finally got the courage to start again. they always had cars and have been driving longer than i have. their cars were given to them years ago. ive always been the passenger and now i am the driver. why knock that?

i have finished school already and i am not young. i have a BA in psychology and i work in human resources. she might have been smart but i didnt want to get stuck with a car that later on the price of the repairs would be more than worth or price of the car.

Perhaps they should go get their license and their own cars, because I bet they won't be complaining the next time they need/want you to drive them somewhere, if they don't get their own rides.

If you worked hard for this and you've accomplished it pretty well on your own with just a bit of help...good for you...they should be pleased, not jealous...but then, some people are like that.

Well if your first freind sounds pretty SMART! she's being practical. Your young still in school you need to stay focused she was thinking about a car payment.
In the other hand I do hear some jealousy coming out of their. Don't mind them for now. Just stay the same. Tell them they can complain all they want BUT IT'S NOT THEIR CAR! and when it comes time for them to get a car they can get what ever they want. Because you are greatfull for the GIFT! that was given to you! You don't complain when it's a gift!!

By the way congratulations and BE SAFE!

Yes and no, I think some people might be jealous that I pretty much got my car handed to me, but I mean its not a super fancy expensive show off car, its just a middle of the line car but I like it and you know what I really couldnt care less what my friends think about it as I would never stoop do their wishes.

Maybe they're jealous and maybe they're not.

But you certainly have a little materialistic streak going to even think people care so much......
Having a nice car that someone helped you pay for can hardly be considered "an accomplishment."

What are you really asking for here?

P.S. Thank you for your clarification above.

I have to amend my answer, with an apology. I am sorry to assume you were being materialistic.
Yes, perhaps your friends are being jealous. For you to have accomplished this is remarkable, and if your friends are *anything* but happy for you, then they are the ones with the problem.
I also agree with that other answerer who said that true friends would be happy for you, so surround yourself with people who are goal-oriented as you so clearly are.

sounds like jealousy. But hopefully one day your friends will develope a sense of maturity and realize that you are working for it. When they make comments about your car or the car you should've got, remind them that it's your choice, your money, and your car and they shouldn't worry about it unless you are asking them for money because you don't need their permission to buy anything. As long as you like the car and it's what you wanted that's all that matter. Congrats on the new car!

it particularly is human to be jealous; i've got had a maximum suitable buddy for years that has continuously tried to one up me in each situation. i don't comprehend what obsession she has with this opposition, yet you style of in simple terms could forget approximately it. i've got even got here upon myself being rather jealous of her each now and then. there is not any situation with envying something somebody close to to you has, yet do no longer enable it get to you. so some distance as you be attentive to Cindy won't be as happy as she seems on the exterior than you think of. and don't under any circumstances attempt to get pregnant till now her in basic terms for justification! it particularly is somewhat no longer nicely worth it. in case you attempt to get pregnant, then achieve this on your guy or woman words. somewhat, concentration on your existence authentic now, exceedingly the constructive properties, which will take a number of the attention from her.

Yep! Tell them to get one of their own choosing. You drive on ... sounds like you have it together. I drive an expensive car, and I don't get crap from my friends. Probably because they are like minded and goal oriented as I. Surround yourself with those who share your interests, your problem with friends will go away.

my friends are jealous of my car but it's because they have always had stuff handed to them. they just don't understand what it means to have something you work hard for. Congrats and you should be proud of what you have accomplished!
