I find it so funny that the people on this site go back and forth over Republican and Democrat. They are just different wings on the same bird. Both are pro big government. Both end up raising your taxes. Both take away your freedoms.

Finally someone else who sees the truth. The only difference in these two parties is one, the democrats are not afraid of telling you they are pro big government and the other, republicans, are not afraid of being pro big business. Either way, you end up with the same thing and the same clowns running the establishment. The political parties are too big for their own good as all they do now is worry about who will maintain or how they will regain the power. Neither of the parties actually gives a damn about doing what is right for the country, only what is right for them. Lets keep electing the same do-nothing, say-everything officials we have been electing so these two parties can continue their stanglehold on this country. Thanks for pointing out something that unfortunately not enough people see. Have a good day.

This is just the nature of partisan politics and make no mistake it is to the advantage of politicians to keep us divided. By distracting us with useless red state/blue state type garbage it allows them to act in a relatively unscathed manner. If a Republican gets caught in something it must be a Democrats fault and vice verse. People need to wake up to the reality that it is not really us against them, but rather us against Congress. Until this happens we will continue to re-elect the same useless representatives who have no interest in the will of the people, but instead care solely for maintaining and increasing their own power bases. People never seem to notice the obvious. These people work in the same building, move in the same circles, attend the same parties and all too often vote for each others legislation as quietly as possible while claiming otherwise publicly.

You don't have a clue what you're talking about.

Democrats make a big show of wanting to help the supposedly "oppressed", and of course the labor unions, which do the same thing. It's all about power for the party and the politicians.

Lots of people are starting to wise up about labor unions, having found that they helped their constituents up until the time that they and their constituents drove industry out of America. When will people wise up about the Democrat agenda, which is turning America into a Socialist swamp?

I have no use for politicians at all. Either party. They all have their own agendas, and usually they are not in the best interests of the American people, but for their own advancement and benefit. But since we have no other voting options here in this country, we're forced to place the less of the two evils in office. And if you'll notice, unless you've held former office, were a lawyer, or are rich, you really have no chance of winning an election here in the US. It's not like any ol' working guy can step up and run for President, he/she would never make it. They say that this country is not divided into ruling classes, but you can see clearly that is not so.

Smoking pot has warped your brain. The big difference is that conservatives believe in traditional values of family and home and generally believe in a more hands off approach of government believing that people are smart and resourceful enough to take care of themselves.. Democrats believe in nontraditional families and believe that it is the role of the government to provide for them as they believe people as a whole are not smart enough or don't have intuition to provide for themselves.

The huge difference between these parties is who they appoint as judges, specifically the Supreme Court. Democrats are appointing liberal judges, and Republicans are appointing conservative judges. This has more impact on your life than you'll ever know.

You are correct in saying there isn't any difference between a Republican and a Democrat. The only possible exception might be the people they want to impress. ie Bush & Born Again Christians

In a very simple way, you are exactly right. Both parties want domination over the process and both are willing to shut up or ridicule whoever stands in their way. I think its sad that so many people on yahoo and blogs fall for their propoganda.

The ideology of the people doesn't fit with the actual politician's actions. But that doesn't change the ideology.
