She had an abortion at 20 weeks that wasn't successful, was told by another doctor months later she wasn't pregnant, and had a healthy baby 7 months later. She is now suing for the costs of raising her child.
I hope that child grows up and sues mommy for mental abuse.

Yes, the article states in April she had an abortion at 20 weeks, was told by another doctor she wasn't pregnant, and gave birth in December, so maybe she got pregnant right after the abortion...yes, the math doesn't quite add up...but she is downright selfish.

The lawsuits in this country are getting out of hand. I also heard of a similar case a few months ago in Germany. She actually won the lawsuit for an undisclosed amount. I don't want to judge, because I believe that women are free to make their own choices, but she had attempted an abortion during her second trimester! Her child is going to grow up with some serious issues, especially since the mother is parading around to the world about how much she never wanted her daughter in the first place. While it wasn't right for her pregnancy to go undetected for months, her baby was healthy nonetheless. If she didn't want to raise a child, she shouldn't have had unprotected sex to begin with. The most Planned Parenthood should do is refund her money for the abortion. I don't like the sound of this woman.

Thats CRAZY! However, I do find it quite amazing that after attempting to have an abortion at 20 weeks (which is about 5 months), she was pregnant for another 7 months. She could have sold her story to the tabloids and made money there. I've never heard of any other human being pregnant for a whole year!

i think her requests are definitely on the greedy side- if she does not want to be a parent, she could release the child for adoption.
she does need to look over the paperwork that was provided to her during the pregnancy- i'm sure PP has a clause in fine print that states that the abortion procedure does not always "take", and in that event, follow up with her personal provider is necessary. I believe that eliminates legal responsibility for PP (unless she can prove unquestionable negligence or whatnot). She could turn her attention towards her dr- why they were not able to diagnose a continued pregnancy at that stage is odd. I do think that they should be held somewhat accountable, as she could have put her unborn child at risk by being under the assumption she wasn't pregnant. However, i don't think that she is entitled to recover the costs of childrearing.

Ok this is why medical care is so high because of women like her!!This happened two years ago and she is now deciding to file a law suit.If she did not want to get pregnant she could have used birthcontrol and if anybody say that its to expensive how much do you think a damn abortion cost?! And then there is always abstinance , and ofcourse permenant sterilization.Also if she felt so strongly about not wanting to have a child why didnt she give the poor dear up for adoption?When the lil girl gets older and finds out about this god knows what will become of her mental stability.

Planned Parenthood doesn't perform abortions, so I don't understand why she would be suing them. If they gave her a pregnancy test that showed up as negative and that's why, then that's just crazy. It is very possible to get a false negative and that still wouldn't be Planned Parenthood's fault.
Imagine how that child will feel when he/she finds out that mommy attempted to abort him/her and then was still upset when he/she was born healthy!

Poor kid! There is a reason for that child still being born despite the attempts to end the pregnancy. I don't think that the mother should sue for child rearing costs, after all she is the one who had sex and became pregnant. However, she did pay for a service that was not successful so she should receive her money back for that.

Please grant the particular regulation you're relating. I also have a feeling it particularly is no longer a regulation approximately discussing the "hazards." planned Parenthood (as does any medical provider) is needed via regulation to get carry of cautioned consent till now an abortion, or different medical technique. meaning the affected guy or lady has been cautioned of each and all the risks. Edit: thank you for posting the regulation, which illustrates what I suggested. * an define of the abortion technique which would be achieved; * the well-being hazards related with abortion methods and suitable anesthesia and drugs. those are already required via regulation. This regulation assumes that the female finding for the abortion is stupid and has no longer already seen those concepts.

I think it is rediculous,, shes the one that got pregnant to begin with. If she didnt want this baby, than once it was born, she could have given it up for adoption. Why sue planned parenthood, abortions are risky anyway, and at that far along, things could happen good or bad.

I dont get the unsuccessful abortion thing. At that stage, they would remove tissue and clean you totally out. How could they "miss" the baby? It doesnt make sense. I dont know personally, but my friend had a miscarriage and thats what they did for her...and I know that its a similar process. I think she is just wanting a free ride from someone...I dont think her story is possible. Simple as that. And if it was, I would hope she places the child for adoption by someone who wants it.

a) I hope she loses big time;
b) I hope the father of the child either gets custody or convinces her to do the right thing and put the baby up for adoption into a family who will love and raise the baby in a proper environment;
c) I pray that God has mercy on her soul for all of the horrible things that she's doing to her baby and the people involved in this.
BTW, either the dates are off in the story (20 wks is 5 months...and "several" for the doctor to tell her she wasn't pregnant...then seven for the baby to be born) or she's also a major scam artist with a dumb attorney who can't count to 40 wks.
