I had a tubel prenancy in my 20's. My husband and i have been trying for 2 years to concieve. But, no protection for 5 years. I had an hsg test done that showed my right tube was scared and surgury would not help. Taken clomid for 6 cycles, and now trying femara. But my queation is the doc said with only 1 good tube i would ovulate every other month, since you ovulate 1 month from one side of your tube and the next from the other side. Anyone else sure about this, and how do you know which month?

You ovulate every month it is just a matter of wether or not the egg is going through the open tube or not. You may release from the same side 2 months in a row or every other side. I had my tubes tied, but I can still tell when I ovulate.
I used the basal body temperature method and it worked both times. You have twice as hard a time as most people. You just have to get the timing down right.
Has your husband been tested? Maybe there is somthing happening there too.

If you have both ovaries, then you ovulate every month. Your chances are cut in half regarding conceiving because you only have one tube in which to carry an egg. I would get some ovulation kits and use them for a few months. Since you don't know which month will be the month that the egg goes thru the tube, you have to make sure you are having sex everytime you are ovulating. Try it for several months and then if nothing is happening, go see a doctor.

i have only one tube - i had hsg and screamed the room down - apparently the hsg can help unblock blocked tubes. i had an ovarian cyst removed and they took part of my tube away so i only have one tube. i spoke to my consultant today and he said that you can still get prego with one and that your good tube picks up the egg. it can be unblocked by laparoscopy - they might want to do that. are you on clomid at all ?? keep trying!!! i have one more round of clomid then after that if we dont conceive they are sending a letter to roehampton hospital for IVF, we been trying for 2.5yrs xxxx goodluck xxx

there r temperature test that u can take ...u can find in ur local pharmacy,they have explanations of how to do it in the box.also u can take the mucus test..if it has elasticity in the discarge...means u r ovalating ,but idk how well that works...good luck!
