The Evolutionist answer is "Egg" because the Egg is simpler than the Chicken so it must have started there. Reptiles to Birds, standard theory.
The Creationist answer is "Chicken" because God created everything "mature". Adam and Even weren't kids, they were fully grown, as was the Garden and everything it. The stars were already formed and the light from them was already shining. So even though everything was 0 days old on the first day the appearance of age was already there.
Considering the endless problems in trying to make Evolution work. Ie.the statistical nightmare of randomly evolving two mateable chickens at the same time, the HUGE difference between scales and feathers the fact that similar traits are found on totally different parts of the genetic code. Trying to believe in spontaneous generation etc. etc.
I think it takes less faith and makes more sense to go
with option 2.
God created two chickens and they have speciated from there into the hundreds of varietys we see today.
Quite possibly the Red Jungle Fowl, see link for more info

do not overlook that the content cloth of the egg is "food" for the cellular to stay of on an identical time as coming up right into a waiting to hatch toddler poultry - All existence i.e human beings, chickens, elephants etc comes from a cellular and an eggs. The cellular represents existence and the egg is purely nutrient to stay of on an identical time as coming up the two interior the mummy or outdoors the mummy. The inclosed egg replaced into the two gods large concept to make existence much less annoying for the cells to discover the food it could desire to enhance or evolutions fortunate direction for the chickens, fish and reptiles. The nutrient in all probability existed first according to risk interior the form of sulfur interior the air or water or something else for the 1st primitive existence form on the earth (Cells) which then grew greater stepped forward/developed (somewhat amazingly, considering each and every thing is so appropriate) and coursed the form of the residing animals the place the female is wearing the nutrient and the male is wearing the cells then some animals does not carry the fertilized egg yet lay it such simply by fact the chicken (The chickens mom). The cellular and the nutrient! properly it somewhat is left as much as talk the place that looked from.

An egg is in fact a unicellular embryo, which is experienced as an egg just because of the hard shell it is found in. The creatures like reptiles including snakes, crocodiles and turtles cannot carry a massive pouch of the embryo in their tummy due to their specific body shape, habitat and movement so they place them outside protected by a suitably hardened shells, making them officially recognised as eggs. Similarly, bird population have mega problem at hand if they have to fly with a belly full of embryos, so they lay embryos as eggs two and hatch them externally.
There can some anomalies however; for example, garter snakes in Japan hatch their eggs inside their body and instead of laying eggs they appear to give birth to their Youngs as mammals would, with placenta sticking to their babies.
The hard shell is round an embryo that accounts to an embryo being known, as an egg is not essential part of a chicken for example; it is necessitated by the lifestyle of bird folk. They do however say that a chicken is just cleaver means use by an egg to produce yet another egg somewhere else, but this is not altogether true. Chicken was first. bcockk!

The egg. It's been around for at least 300 million years. Chickens are far more recent.

the egg, as it is a single celled organism (albeit a very, very large one). thus, the single cell evolves into the multi-cullular, and so chickens came last
