I am so sick of all the "America land of the free" B.S. Why cant we see that our freedom is being taken away? When people put restrictions on so many things and continuously come up with new taxes and ridiculously petty laws YOU ARE NOT FREE! One day this country will open their eyes. This country is not the land of the free it is the land of greed. Uncle Sam is a crook! He takes a huge percentage of your money and spends maybe 20% of it on things that you actually need. Where does the rest go? Wherever he wants of course, AND YOU LOVE HIM! Are you stupid or do you just like throwing your money out the window? Why do I still live here then? Because I cant afford to leave yet, I would be a lot closer if it wasn’t for all the taxes, fees, and fines I pay everyday. And why do we associate freedom with fighting? There are plenty of countries with equal or more freedom than us and they are not at war for example Netherlands or Costa Rica, they aren’t at war and I don’t remember the last time they were. Im not saying there aren’t any countries with less freedom either, I know you were just about to right something stupid like “go to iraq or north korea then” sorry to shut you down but you are an idiot. So my question is this: What makes this country so free?

I totally agree!! I think with everybody complaining about stuff is making more useless laws... What I don't understand is WHY they keep building these BIG houses that are sitting vacant, and there are people that are homeless.... And then you hear on the news that the reason they are vacant is because people can't AFFORD them!!! But, everyone keeps going further and further into debt with credit cards and cars and stuff they don't need. I'm a mom with a disabled son. He recieves a disability check every month and that's it. I can't work. I have to take care of him and no one will hire for me for the little bit of time that he's in school. So. right now it's looking like I will never be able to get him the house he's needs.... because I have NO credit.... I wasn't stupid enough to get a credit card when I knew I didn't NEED one.... And Americans wonder why other countries don't like us.... Because people here are rude, greedy, spoiled.... Anyway.... I'm with ya on the moving out of here part... and the rest of it.... And the sad part is.... it's NEVER gonna change......

I completely agree with you. I bet you are gonna get a lot of people that think you are wrong. The only thing that I can figure is that most of the people are so weak minded that when they are told they are free they just believe it. I can see our rights getting taken away from us everyday. Every right that they take away they say it is for our safety, and people believe it. I hate seat belt laws, they have no right to tell me that I have to wear the thing. I hate the gun laws it only effects the law abiding citizens not the crooks and the gang members they are still going to have guns because they don't care about the laws. We don't have freedom of speech anymore because if we say something and if offends anyone then it is considered politically incorrect. And yes the taxes are out of control, they have to hire more people every year just to figure out how to spend our money, I wish I could keep a little bit of it. This country is going straight to hell. When the whole system collapses I will sit back and laugh and when they try to take my guns I will shoot them.

You ask what makes this country so free? how about your right to openly critisize this nation? it's called freedom of speech, your right to move were you please. Have you ever lived in the Netherlands? I doubt it, you have to apply and citizenship is based on your trade, if they don't need you then you can't live there. and Costa rica is buisy with internal fighting and there dirt poor. You might want to find better examples

Because it allows people like you to voice your dissent without repercussions. You are free to leave at any time or march on the White House to demonstrate.
Go ahead, show me a country, a technologically advanced country were the citizens pay no taxes of any kind, are allowed to march in protest on their governments and will welcome a huge influx of immigrants. If there are any they are few and far between.
Yes, there are problems but you show me one country that has NO problems.

You need to take a long vacation and travel to other countries; then and only then you may appreciate the freedom in your country.
The US is not heaven but it's definitely the best nation on earth.
