Of coarse not! People in today's society own a very common misconception of what a terrorist is. If you believe that Middle Eastern People should be scrutinized more so than any other person then your idea of a terrorist is probably a middle-aged middle-eastern man or woman that might be wearing a turban. If this is true then Jesus would have one heck of a hard time getting onto a plane in America because he fits the physical description of a terrorist. Holding a whole race accountable for the actions of a small group of people within that race is not only a threat to the safety of society but also very morally and ethically degenerative. If you say that a middle-eastern man should be more scrutinized for buying a weapon, then you are automatically saying that you see a middle-eastern man as a threat. Consequently, you are saying that you would not see a white man as a threat. So if you believe this to be true then, can you accept the fact that you are a racist and that that racism is planting a seed within your children? Most people would like to think that America has gotten over the whole "the color of your skin determines the way you will be treated" aspect in society. Obviously, they are wrong. Racism did not die off, it just shifted onto a new focus.
Terrorism is found in all colors. Someone of Latino, Asian, African, European, etc. descent can be just as dangerous or threatening as someone of Middle-Eastern descent, and if we truly wish to be safe in today's society then all men and women must be equally scrutinized.
How would you feel to live in a society where you can be taken into custody, imprisoned, denied access to some thing or place, etc. based on the fact that you are a certain color?

Define "descent". How far back does that descent have to go? 2 generations? 10 generations? How do you know if someone is of middle eastern descent? Names can be deceiving, especially here in the U.S. And exactly what is Joe Whitebread planning on doing with that .50-caliber weapon? Two words: Oklahoma City.

Not an American Citizen, the decent is irrelivant if they have obtained citizenship. For instance, one might have said that about a German or Japanese person 50 years ago, but there was really no cause for it. From what I can see most of the middle eastern people I know are very freindly, honest, hard working folk. We definately should give them the benefit of the doubt.

No, just because someone is not white, does not mean that they are going to use the weapon for bad (if he is white i would worry, shall we look at a lot of localized terrorism here in the states, done by white men?).
but absolutly not, of course why is anyone buying such a weapon in the first place?

Well it is kind of obvious that overall status will depend on if you can buy a .50 cal. weapon.
