Hi sweet its not uncommon for you to skip a period, it could be down to loads of stuff, for example, stress, diet, ect. And also another one is that the menstrual cycle does also change itself, thats another thing that could happen.
Don't threat too much. I would wait for next months and then if still your period doesn't arrive nip to the doctors just for a routine checkup.
Rest assure I am sure your fine.

It takes about two years at least to get your cycle established properly; but anyone can miss a period anytime for no particular reason. You may not have ovulated this month; you may be ovulating late. Are you on a strict diet or training hard for anything? Physical stresses like that can interfere with your cycle, or supress it completely. Perhaps you are mentally stressed or worried about something? that too, could cause a hiccup. Our cycle is supremely sensitive to stressors and changes, and if there is nothing you can pinpoint at all, just keep an eye on things for a few months. If your periods don't return after a few months, it might be worth while going to see a doctor, who will advise some blood tests in case you are anaemic, and to check your hormone levels.
My daughter is 27 and only has two or three periods a year, which she considers normal. She has a child too, so it doesn't indicate infertility.

It's probably stress. Even a little bit of stress can make you miss a period. When a close family member of mine died, I was 15 and had started 2 and 1/2 years before, and I missed a period for 6 months. If I hadn't been a virgin, I would've thought I was pregnant! If you haven't been under any stress, it could also be your lifestyle. If you are severely underweight, or obese, or a very active athlete, you can miss periods. If none of these fit you, I'd wait another month or so and then see your doctor. They can check for thyroid problems, diabetes, or other things that can throw your periods off.

Hi,
Don't worry, these things do just randomly happen for the 1st few years after you start your periods - if you don't have one for a few months or are feeling unwell in other ways then you should probably go and get checked out by your gp, but really nothing to worry about right now!
Hope that helps xx

Check out WebMD and type in "missed period". You'll need to sort through all the pregnancy answers, but there are other medical reasons that can cause it, but there are other questions that would need to be answered to really see if there's an underlying issue. Your weight can definately play a part. If you're severely overweight or underweight, it can cause you to not have a period. But it totally could have been a one time thing. Some peoples bodies just do what they want.

ah sometimes periods don't work the way that they are supposed to.
You shouldn't be paranoid--if it doesn't show up by next month, maybe schedule an appointment with your MD.
As well, if you have any unusual cramping or pains that you don't usually get. As well as if the pains/cramping come with spotting (small drops of blood in your underwear).
Chances are its just stress due to school, your ever changing growing hormones or just for whatever reason.
As well, if you are underweight, it could also be a reason but usually if it disappears for more than 8 weeks, doctors don't do many tests.

Stresses will cause a woman to miss her period. There is other things like cysts growths which can also cause you to miss periods. I wouldn't worry about cysts unless you skip another month. Then you have fluk menopausals at a young age which again, I wouldn't worry about because not many women in their late teens and twenties go through menopause.

Sometimes these things just happen. Your body is still adjusting itself. I remember the first few years when I started my period, sometimes I would get it twice in one month and the next time, it would take a month and a half until I got my next period. My body was not regular until my early 20's. Don't worry about it, this is normal.

If you're a virgin what are you worried about. It does occasionally happen that you are late or maybe miss one, but if you are really worried then go and see your doctor. Severe anxiety can stop periods, and shocks and things like that.
