I don't know if I can describe this like I am picturing it, but what about a dress that is snug right under the boobs and flows out from there, probably a short and not long dress. That should disguise your little bump pretty well. Good luck and congrats.

By 5 months, you will definitely be bigger. I started showing at 5 months and it's obvious I have a tummy. Perhaps you should wait until closer to May to try on dresses. There are many different styles, including flowing ones (remember the one Heidi Klum wore or Gwen Steffani) that resemble Roman dresses and conceal the tummy pretty well. I would not suggest anything too tight or midriff baring!
I'm tiny but began buying maternity clothes at about 23 weeks, mostly shirts. My pants began to get very snug before then so I invested in dressy elastic waist pants for work. They still fit and probably will last my entire pregnancy. Everyone is different, so simply buy maternity clothes whenever your normal clothes start to get too snug! Goodluck!

My answer to you is to not wait too far from the prom to get a dress, when you turn about 3 1/2 months go looking for one and tell the person himming that your pregnant and need it to fit you by the time your 5 months still, that way they can get a good idea of how much bigger you may be, but the main thing I think you should do is ask your dr how big YOU might be by then, because all women are different, and it may help you out. Goodluck!

not sure about the prom wear, i was 5 months preg. when i got married though and my dress kept getting smaller and smaller as i got bigger and bigger my mom had to let out the seams to get it to fit.
and for maternity clothes you'll know when you need to wear them. i started wearing them i think either just before my wedding or just after.

Get a dress with a princess waist...that's right below your breasts so there's room for the baby-bump. I didn't start to show until my 5th month with my 1st, but at 8 weeks with my 2nd. Everyone's different and every pregnancy, too.

maternity clothes were a must for me around 5 1/2 months, but your normal clothes will probably get uncomfortable around 3-4 months.

Tough one... I don't know that I would even go to prom, cuz I wouldn't want to look like a waddeling duck, but if you do maybe you should wear a dress that flares out at the bottom to draw away from your belly...

go for a smock, emprire (a sort of roman style) or a-line dress! Something with a belt under boobs and flows. Very flattering

you could get a dress that has a high waist line... they will accentuate the cute little belly... You should be proud and show it off!!!
