There are more Taco TImes than Taco Bells in my city. I thought Taco TIme was a national chain.

Taco Time was a guy from Oregon and I think he may have sold all or part of it to a Canadian guy. The concept was similar to Del Taco, or Taco Bell but a lot of the stores were looking pretty crappy and I think he bought a bunch back from multi unit franchisees. He was big time gung ho and went down to Mexico and did tons of on the street research with locals all over the country in cities and rural areas esp for spiciness, salsas, sauces, tortillas, rice and general quality. He came back and redid the concept with all new menus and redesigned restaurants getting away from the Taco Bell style of fast food and got liquor licences also. Some of the restaurants are still being transformed and the new ones are more like a sit down Mex grill-almost. Killer chow blows away Taco Bell by a mile in my opinion. Check it out on the net, its a cool success story. I think it was all sold again, a few years ago to a U.S company.

I have both taco time and taco bell in my town, and i've never really cared for taco time. I love taco bell however. I just feel that taco bell has more to offer for a better price. The one thing i do miss from taco bell is the mexi nuggets. Taco time has them but they're not as good.

Don't know about Taco Time - but the rats in NYC have definitely turned me off to Taco Bell. Eyyuck.
