if it doesn't change, you can double click on the clock...it'll open up a menu with three tabs. If you click on the Time Zone tab it'll have a check box for automatically changing the time for daylight savings at the bottom of that menu.

If you have Windows XP SP2 or Vista, then no, it will be done automatically. Windows XP SP1 will not do it, you must update to XP SP2 and then apply the time change update (or just download them all). Versions earlier than XP SP2 will not do it, there may be an update for it for the 2K series but Windows ME/98/95 are left out in the cold, you must turn off automatic time update and change the clock manually.

You should but it is not required. Most computers do this automatically. You also need to make sure you have the lastest updates for your system. Windows 2000, ME, 98SE, 98, 95 do NOT have a patch for them. MS has offered information on how to apply the patch manually if you use one of those systems. The patch really is just a modification to the registry for your time zone. If you need the complete reg file for modifing those systems let me know as I have the complete .reg file here.

You should check to make sure at least. Just right click on the task bar where it gives the time and choose Adjust Date and Time. My computer came set in Singapore time, probably where it was manufactured. I had to change it. No GPS in most computers. Yet.

Not sure...because daylight savings time is three weeks earlier than usual, we may have to change them manually. Others have given you those instructions; but an excellent question. â¥
