I'm a Portuguese speaker and I see all the accent characters used in Portuguese in my keyboard, but I'm not able to use them.
How can I configure my keyboard to be able to use them all?

An update to a previous answer.
Using the Alt key followed by a four digit number entered on the number pad enables all the extra letters required by the Portuguese alphabet:
Alt + 0191 to 196 for example, gives:
¿ÀÁÂÃÄ

Hold down the Alt key and type numbers on the numeric keypad.
That will enable some of the letters you seek:
see this link for more detail, but for example:
Alt 133 gives à
Alt 160 gives á....

go to Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Charachter map, here you can pick all the charachters that do not appear on your keyboard then copy and paste them into your document
