I'd go for a brown, dark or light depending on the effect you want. If you want a brighter effect, try cream.

Think of a tree changing colors in autumn - I would pick something in the golden yellow family or a pale salmon. I try to choose colors from nature.

Browns and tans. If you want a bit more contrast perhaps metallic tones like gold or silver. Without knowing the subject matter, it's hard to say.
