Volume of a Sphere??

Question

Ok I have the answer but I'm having a difficult time understnading how to get to this answer, I know that the volume of a sphere = 4/3(pi) r^3. The radius is 12 and I know the answer is 7230 and so far all i really get is that you multiply 12*12*12 and that gets you 1728, so the new problen is 4/3(pi) 1728.....I don't get what to do from there. Thanks, please explain why and how you do it.

I used 3.14 for pi.

4/3 pi * 1728 =2304 *3.14= 7234

volume of sphere=4/3(pi)r^3
4/3*3.14*1728=7234.56=7230(approx)
this answer will do
if you are using pi=22/7 than answer is coming to be 7241.14 which is creating a big difference so better use 3.14
and u can multiply by any number first that doesnt matter it will do the job

Multiply 1728 by pi, then by 4, and divide by 3. I got 7234.56. Did you use 3.14 for pi? Or did you use the really, really big version?

Assume r = 12 cm
One way of obtaining an answer is to press buttons as follows:-
4 x 3.14 x 12 x 12 x 12 ÷ 3 = 7238 cm³

now thr radius is 12
value of pi is 3.14
so volume= 4/3(3.14)(12)(12)(12)
=7234.56

Take your 12^3 (1738) and now multiply that by pi (about 3.1416), and then multiply that by 4/3 (multiply by 4 and divide by three).

12^3 = 1728
1728 x 3.1416 = 5428.6848
5428.6848 x 4 = 21714.7392
21714.7392 / 3 = 7238.2464 units cubed

As you'll see it does matter how many digits you carry pi out to, and how well you pay attention to your significant digits.
