My period (for the last few months) has been lasting 2-3 weeks. It is getting aggrevating and I'm feeling drained. I have an appointment set, but I was wondering if other people have this problem. Oh, and I have an IUD (which is supposed to shorten periods).

Your IUD could be the cause of your periods lasting longer than they should. A week is the outside max that you should be going through this.

Keep your appointment. You're drained probably because you're anemic.

I had to have my IUD removed because I started having longer than normal periods like yours. After the last one lasted almost a month, I had it removed, and my periods returned to the normal 5 days. Anything that lasts longer than what you had before you had the IUD, and 2 weeks is definitely not normal. You may also be having anemia now that you have been having longer cycles since you feel tired.

No, it's not normal. I've had the same problems in the past. It could be any number of things gone wrong. I'm glad you have an appointment set up. They will let you know. I've gone through that and it was all due to either a cyst, endometriosis or fibroids. Your doctor will let you know.

No it is absolutely not normal. You should go to your doctor and get your IUD checked. You might also be anaemic from bleeding so much, which could be making you tired. Tell your doctor how you are feeling. Good luck

No,,see a doctor immediately. There IS a problem & the sooner corrected,,the better. You are also becoming anemic due to loss of blood.Take vitamins with iron as every woman should.
