Thanks so much for answers so far - my main question is because I really want to take the family to Taba Heights but I'm having problems finding cheap flights to Taba direct but I can find some for Sharm.

It's about 2 to 2 and half hours by car .it's about 200 KM . There is also buses and taxis you can take it from Sharm to Taba. the best is to arrange for the transportation with the hotel you are going to. To tell you the best and economical solution I should know more details. It's always different if someone is going for tourism or to work.

You can travel from Sharm to Taba, though Taba has its own airport. To get into the area of Sharm from Taba takes about an hour (Sharm extends into the Sinai desert, even though there's nothing there) but add another couple of hours to get to the airport itself, especially if there's a police presence checking your papers along the way. There should be an internal flight from Sharm to Taba to save time, if not money.

Your besr bet is to fly to Cairo then Egyptair to Taba
It is 4 hours from sharm to taba by bus or 3.5 taxi,
you can fly from the internal airports, to taba appart from Alex,

as far as i know Taba has no airports and the only way to get there is by a car.
