If you like Anaïs, try Carla Bruni (Quelqu'un m'a dit is fabulous and easy to understand), Keren Ann, Pauline Croze, Benjamin Biolay, Camille, Charlotte Gainsbourg, and Coralie Clement. All of their songs are primarily acoustic or in the tradition of "chanson."

For pop/light rock, try Kyo, Tryo, Madame Kay, De Palmas, Indochine, Louise Attaque, Grégory Lemarchal, Jenifer, Tina Arena, Pascal Obispo, and Natasha St. Pier.

If you're looking for something different, try Les Prototypes. You can download their Je ne te connais pas EP for free at www.mintyfresh.com.

You can find most of this music at www.amazon.com, but it's quite expensive. If I can't preview the music on the American website, I try www.amazon.fr. You can also watch French videos at http://www.tv5.fr/ (Scroll down and click on the Musique heading in orange) and http://videos.tf1.fr/video/musique/. If you haven't already, you should watch the video for Mon coeur, mon amour at http://top-of-the-pops.france2.fr/ (Click on Clips video in green)- it's a riot!!!

I realize that you're asking for specific songs, but I figured that good French artists would give you a starting point if nothing else.

Amuse-toi bien!

There are lots, but I like a couple of french songs by the Aussie pop singer Tina Arena called "Tu Es Toujours La", "Si Je Ne T'Aimais Pas", and "Coeur De Pierre". Good luck!!

I absolutely love "Un ange frappe à ma porte" by Natasha St. Pier. I heard that song before I lived in France last summer and when I was there I would hear it on the radio and it made me smile.

Try "De l'Eau" by Elodie as well...
