I have only been on this site for a few days and i am astounded at the number of kids 12- 13 years old that are saying that they are pregnant then the advise that some people are giving is that you HAVE to have an abortion (even to the kids that say they dont want one) do the people that are giving the advise to these kids even know what happens during an abortion? my other question is where are the parents!!! how is it that they dont know what there 12 year old is doing there should be some sort of law that prevents kids 8-13 years old from having the ability to make this dicion for themselfs and if there is a law why isnt it being enforced!! kids come into hopspitals pregnant and they arnt even required to tell the parents if the child is pregnant or if the child is planning on having an abortion under 18 years old i dont think that they should be able to decide this. what does everyone else think ?

in response to your answers...
kids under the age of 18 can get an abortion, but it depends on the state and the age of concent which is 16 but some states allow you to have an abortion as young as 11(child baring age or having a period)
i am aginst abortion yes BUT i do believe that it should be availible in case of medical emergency NOT as a form of birth control!!! and i am not forceing anyone. these kids belive the are responsible enough to have sex at 12-13 yrs old then they need to be resonsible for the outcomes and adoption is a perfect option to abortion the government shouldnt make it this easy to dispose of our resposiblitys because it doesnt convinence us.
and LILY is right the schools arnt teaching our kids the right stuff i had sex ed in 5th gd i was 10!!! and if you search under 12 and pregnant see what pops up and read the responses

continueing... We should NOT teach abstance are you NUTS!!! if we dont teach abstance now what hope do our kids have in 10 yrs thouse of you here that are christians what are we standing up for anymore if we dont try and make a difference. if we think we have a problum now lets stop trying altogether.
and i also believe that the parents of the preteens should be held responsible if the would take 10 min a day just to sit down and take an interest in there kids we wouldnt have nearly the problum we have now.

in response to Gorgie...No i am not saying they should not have a right to choose if there is a medical reason by all means have an abortion if you feel it is right they should not have the right to take a life (a fetus is considered human at 21 days when a heart beat is present)
and yes they SHOULD be forced to carry is this may seem cruel but 50 years ago murder was murder and abortion was unheard of regardless of cercomstances if you were pregnant you had a miscarige or you carried full term and eather kept the baby or gave it up for adoption. even TODAY abortion is illegal because its not right!!
and if you are reading this (or other people pro-choice) do you think that if you are obease you can get a surgery to fix it and you never have to worry about it if you get large again have another surgery.... what about abortion and useing it as birth control opps i got pregnant do worry i can just have surgery (some wemon have had 10+ abortions in there life time befor the age of 30)

I am 19 years old and MARRIED and currently due in Aug by law i have the means to take care of a child with my HUSBAND, and no i may not be ready to be a mom but i made the choice to become a wife and mother and i have to live with what comes of it and so should everyone else.
not caring about what happens during an abortion is irrelivent... how an abortion procediure is considered a painful major surgery where and i quote "the pregnancy ends in death- planned parenthood abortion information packets" and do you know what i think is horrific not the abortion but the fact that they LIE to these teenagers. i quote from the book Gianna " planned parenhood told me i didnt have a choice i had to have an abortion they told me i wasnt killing anything it was MY body and this fetus it was nothing but a mass of cells simular to cancer." later on after a faileed abortion " my fetus is nothing but a mass of cells.. how! a mass of cells does not have a head, my baby has a head!"

Gianna Jessen's Biography
Gianna Jessen does not quit. Giving up is not an option to her. Gianna has what she refers to as the "gift" of Cerebral Palsy. She weighed a mere 2 lbs at birth and the doctors said she would never be able to hold up her head, sit up, crawl or walk. She began to walk by the age of three years old with the help of leg braces and a walker.
Gianna is a Christian. Her life was given to her by the grace of God. She shouldn't be walking, but more miraculous still; she should not even be alive. Gianna's biological mother was 17 when she had a saline abortion in her third trimester. Many Americans don’t realize it is legal to have an abortion throughout all nine months of pregnancy. After being burned alive for approximately 18 hours in the womb from the saline solution, Gianna was delivered alive in a Los Angeles County abortion clinic. Her medical records state, "born during saline abortion"...this is what caused her Cerebral Palsy.

An Abortion Survivor's Story
In September of 1975, a woman discovered that she was pregnant. Things were very difficult for her, as she was raising two sons, six and 15 years old. Their father had walked out on them and refused to help care for the boys financially, or in any other way. The only alternative for this woman, it seemed, was to abort this unexpected baby. After all, she could barely afford to feed the children she already had.
Between the months of September 1975 and January 1976, this woman had three therapeutic abortions in an attempt to rid herself of the unborn baby. These abortions, also known as a "salting out procedure" are performed by injecting a very large syringe into the woman's abdomen, removing a certain amount of amniotic fluid out of the womb, and then injecting three times the amount of saline back in, thus "burning" the baby out. For reasons only God knows, these abortions did not take and on April 21, 1976, two months preme she had a baby

Choice – A live baby or a dead baby!
Once a woman is pregnant, barring a miscarriage or an induced abortion, she’ll have a baby. Therefore, her only choice is, "How is the baby going to come out?"
Will he or she come out alive and crying, or dead in pieces? For many women this is an agonizing decision. Truly her choice is between life and death — a live baby or a dead one. But, for many women, it doesn’t end with the abortion. It can impact the rest of her life. There can be physical complications. Perhaps more important, for many, is the emotional aftermath that can result.
and for other fact see abortionfacts. com for both pro-life AND pro-choice information.
so i do think that my opinion is validated and correct eather way through having the baby or having an abortion the teen/preteen are going to have to give birth and be mother it just depends on when so how is it appalling to have them do it the right way both have baggage and responsiblitys.

Last entry I Promise.. im sorry if the storys are gross to some people it just really bothers me when people say the prosess of abortion doesnt matter. it wasnt supost to be christian entrys they are all just what i have found on the internet when i type in failed abortions. and maybee i have gone a little wild with all this and fell off my point but let me restate it " abortion is wrong when used in the wrong way (birthcontrol) or used as a out door for responsibiltys (excuse to not tell your parents, boyfriend, friends excetra.) But i fully suport it for medical uses only (iminent death)"
the whole point of this was to see what peole think. and i got a little carried away when people tried to pin it on everything else in the world but the responsibiltys that these kids need to face.
note to gorgie-
the choices article was found on abortion facts. com and was not written by me. i am not trying to push i religious belifes only someting that has been weighing an my heart.

I agree with you on most of this... I'm a Christian also, I believe in the sanctity of life, and I'm WAY against abortion.
Our country has become a "throw-away" society and we'd rather get rid of consequences rather than deal with our sin. That's obvious by the number of people whose ideal solution for an unwanted pregnancy is, "Why don't you just get an abortion?". Why not practice abstinence or at least "safe" sex? Forget pregnancy... isn't anyone concerned about STDs?
I appreciate your insight and I'm also aghast at the number of kids signing on here asking if we think their 15 yr. old GF is pregnant... it's ludicrous and the parents are no where to be found.
However, I don't think the abortion horror stories are appropriate... I'm against abortion, but I really don't care to know the details of exactly how they carry out these "burning" methods. Also, that's going to turn more people away from the message you're attempting to get across, which is perfectly valid and NEEDS to be expressed. The very purpose of abortion is horrific enough without knowing the methods.
Good luck with the kids you and your husband have contact with. Pray for them and don't be wary of discussing the consequences of pre-marital sex with them... in this "shock and awe" society, they need to hear what the Bible says about it.

I got pregnant at 15 so I am not so innocent. But 12 or 13 come on, where are these kids parents? I am sure at 13 I was not thinking about sex, I probably thought eww I am never doing that. I know I got pregnant at 15 and it was my first time, and I think that is really young but 13. Anyway I don't understand why people should advise them to get an abortion if they don't want one, they should not get one anyway. If you are old enough to open your legs you are old enough for the results. Take responsibility for your actions.

Its everyones individual choice to have an abortion, right or wrong. But i do agree that its shocking the amount of youngsters that seek help through the medium of yahoo answers...
II think that privacy SHOULD b in place for those seeking an abortion purely because i do think it is the pregnant persons choice and their choice alone. If pregnant teens fear their parents will b contacted in a case of going to hospital it would almost certainly lead to dodgy back street 'private' abortion clinic which im my eyes can only lead to trouble.
It is sad how young children are having sex and getting into trouble these days. especially as they seem more knowledgeable about sex stds and conteceptives than ever before :(

Children getting pregnant at that age is outrageous on its own, Why are the parents not being better parents and knowing what the kids are doing???
I'm not a supporter of abortions, I would rather they give the baby up. A child that age , can not raise a baby, or give it a good life.
Shouldnt the parents be found guilty of neglect if the child that young is having sex ?

maybe u should direct your anger at the obviously appalling sex education lessons in american schools (or lack of them) as well as the parents. Ive not heard ANYONE on here telling 13 year olds they HAVE to have an abortion, so im not really sure where u have got that from? Yes it is an option but not the only one, and 13 is too young to have a baby, what other options can these girls take in a country that is quick to dish out blame and dammnation, but not prepared to educate these kids in the first place!!! All I can say is im glad my child is not being brought up in the good ole US of A

My husband and I used to be in youth ministry as well. It's hard not to get attached to these kids. Even in church-raised kids, the tendency towards early sexual activity is still there. It bothers me greatly that the gov't wants to take away the parent's control of their children. I have a serious problem with anyone telling me I don't have the right to even KNOW that my child is having an abortion.
It goes beyond that, though - the gov't wants to dictate what our kids are taught in school, too. To further complicate matters, too many parents aren't willing to raise their kids as they should. No wonder we have so many problems. I wish I knew the solution - but I think I can safely say that the government taking control of my parenting rights is NOT going to help.

I agree that pregnant or not, a 12 year old is still a child. The ability to reproduce does not make one capable of making the decisions that come with the responsibility of having a baby. The parents/guardian (or sadly the State, if no other adult exists) should intervene with whatever decision they think is best for the child and the baby.

My husband and I were just discussing this last night I cant even understand what would draw such a young child to sex when I was 12 and 13 I liked music and roller skating and boys and the thing i worried most about was would he hold my hand? I mean there has to be a way to stop the madness.

I agree with what you say, whole heartedly. The people of today do not care enough, about anything. children are not children anymore. Adult, what does that mean?... It's supposed to mean someone over the "legal" age, what ever that may be in what ever country you happen to live in. It's not just the pregnancy issue it's EVERYTHING. There is not a politition in the world who is Honestly doing anything about ANYTHING to make this world a better place for our children to grow up in. I could go on for hours about what is wrong with this world... But WHO cares? except a very few people, no one with any POWER is willing to do anything. It's Sickening.
